1. How UX Research & Design Improved Pharma Manufacturing Operations
*This is not an actual wireframe. It is just for illustration purposes.
In 2019, at Axis Group, I led a crucial project for a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company facing demand surges and stagnant profits. The goal: harness BI dashboards to streamline drug manufacturing operations and improve efficiency. The challenge: managers lacked the data literacy needed to use BI tools effectively.
To tackle data illiteracy, I conducted in-depth interviews with data literacy experts, consultants, and company managers. These interviews guided the creation of a tailored data literacy program to help managers interpret graphs and make data-driven decisions.
Next, I interviewed manufacturing operation managers to uncover root causes of their operational struggles. Key research questions included: "How do managers currently make decisions, and what tools do they rely on?" and "What are the specific pain points in interpreting and utilizing data?"
Using these insights, I designed custom BI dashboards that provided intuitive, actionable insights. This initiative reduced production time by 15% and cut operational expenses by ~25%, boosting profits.

2. GETTR Expands by Adapting to Local Cultures
In late 2020, I joined GETTR to challenge social media giants like Meta and TikTok. With ambitious goals to boost global engagement and offer unique experiences, I focused on three key research questions: What unmet needs and pain points do users have with platforms like Meta, YouTube, and TikTok? What unique features or experiences do users want that aren't currently offered? How can GETTR create a user experience that fosters strong community engagement and stands out from competitors?
To answer these, I conducted a SWOT analysis, in-depth interviews with US-based users, and targeted surveys in strategic expansion locations. This multi-faceted approach gave us a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape, user needs, and market opportunities, ensuring GETTR was tailored to meet the specific needs of its users.
Using these insights, I worked with UX designers, product managers, and software engineers to create culturally aware digital experiences. This approach honored local customs, enhanced user safety, and complied with regional regulations. As a result, GETTR's user base grew tenfold, and engagement increased by 25% within a year, showcasing the power of culturally informed design strategies.

3. How User Personas Can Help Benefit Pharma Companies
In June 2022, I joined ZAIDYN at ZS Associates to enhance the usability of their AI-driven platform, vital for our pharmaceutical clients' success. Despite its advanced features, usability issues were a barrier. Over 1.5 years, I worked with senior UX researchers, conducting surveys, market research, usability testing, and in-depth interviews with over 20 top pharmaceutical companies and multiple internal teams.
Focusing on four key research questions: What are ZAIDYN users' primary needs, pain points, and motivations? How do users interact with the platform, and what obstacles do they face? What tasks do users aim to accomplish with ZAIDYN? What tasks outside of ZAIDYN are critical for their success? Using these methods and the Jobs-to-be-Done framework, we developed over 20 detailed user personas. These personas are guiding our product team in creating more intuitive and effective solutions, aiming to enhance platform usability and provide our clients with a competitive edge.
